Changelog

What we shipped.

Canvex moves fast and this is the receipt. Newest first. For the deeper field notes, see the blog.

Custom workspaces, a rebuilt GPU picker, and a faster dashboard

  • NewTurn any configured workstation into a reusable workspace. Install your tools once, then launch fresh copies for yourself or your team from the same picker as the built-in images.
  • NewRestrict which workspaces a group can launch from Policy Groups, so members only see the images you approve.
  • ImprovedRebuilt GPU picker: every card, its VRAM, and per-option pricing in one place, with same-model variants (like different Flex 140 slices) shown as distinct choices.
  • ImprovedCleaner workstation cards on the dashboard, and the size picker now only offers "Show all sizes" when there actually are other sizes to show.
  • ImprovedThe dashboard and workstation lists load faster, with noticeably fewer round-trips behind the scenes.

Resize onto a GPU on any node

  • NewWhen you resize a workstation and pick a GPU that only exists on a different node in its region, the workstation now moves itself to that node automatically. It shows a "Migrating" status while the move runs, then comes back ready to start.

Comparison pages and a public changelog

  • NewSide-by-side comparisons against Citrix, VMware Horizon, Amazon WorkSpaces, and Kasm, including where each of them is the right call.
  • NewThis changelog.
  • ImprovedMarketing pages now prerender to static HTML so link previews and crawlers see real content instead of an empty app shell.

NUMA-aware GPU scheduling and self-hosted analytics

  • NewGPU virtual machines on multi-socket hosts are pinned to the CPU and memory of the GPU's own NUMA node, cutting cross-socket latency for CAD and ML workloads.
  • ImprovedSwitched marketing analytics to self-hosted Umami. Only public pages are tracked; the authenticated dashboard is never measured.

Shells: SSH-only compute

  • NewShells are SSH-only instances that live alongside GUI workstations in the same picker, scheduler, and billing model. Minimal, development, and security flavors, container or VM.
  • NewPer-shell SSH key pinning, terminal color schemes, and a browser terminal with scrollback.
  • NewBulk actions on workstations and shells: start, stop, lock, unlock, delete from a multi-select bar, plus a delete-protection lock toggle.

Dynamic resize and Windows session shadowing

  • NewSession shadowing on Windows workstations: watch a live session over the shoulder, with consent, for support and onboarding.
  • ImprovedBrowser workstations now re-layout live when you resize the window, instead of staying letterboxed at the initial size.

Shared drives, recordings, and more

  • NewShared Drives: persistent cloud storage that auto-mounts across all your workstations and regions, with a web file browser.
  • NewSession recording on the Enterprise tier, with playback speed controls.
  • NewInternal DNS so containers on an org network resolve each other by name.
  • ImprovedStreaming WebSocket now pins to the workstation's own cluster member, removing a class of cross-node routing hiccups.

Enterprise identity and access

  • NewSSO via SAML and OIDC, plus SCIM 2.0 provisioning for IdP-driven user and group lifecycle.
  • NewTwo-factor authentication with recovery codes.
  • NewOutbound VPN connectivity: reach a corporate network from your workstations over WireGuard, OpenVPN, AnyConnect, or SSH.
  • NewPer-org and admin-level webhooks for workstation, billing, and auth events.
